Glov Beauty Pumpkin Seed Oil

Your 24-Week Pumpkin Seed Oil Journey

The guide to taking your Advanced Hair Loss Complex:
how to take it, where to look, and when.

With just 2 softgels a day, Glov Pumpkin Seed Oil is formulated to support healthy hair growth, less hair on the brush, a fuller-looking part and thicker-feeling hair. Your 24 weeks stage by stage: week 1 settling in, two softgels with your largest meal. Weeks 2 to 6 the quiet weeks, nothing to see yet and that is normal. Weeks 7 to 12 underneath quietly, less hair in the drain and on the brush. Weeks 13 to 18 the turn, short new hairs along your part. Weeks 19 to 24 where you can see it, thickness and cover you can photograph. Hair takes months, not weeks. Here is every step, and what to look for along the way.

What this page is

Hi, I am Jessica from Glov. This is the guide that goes with your Pumpkin Seed Oil.

Hair is slow. Most women see their change somewhere between month four and month six. So we split your 24 weeks into five stages. Each one tells you what is happening, and what to look for while it does.

Here is the part that makes this product different from anything else you have taken. Hair works quietly, and it works slowly. There is nothing to feel while it happens, and you cannot see your own scalp. So rather than leave you guessing, this page gives you somewhere to look at every stage.

"I can't see anything yet" and "it isn't working" are not the same sentence. Most of this journey is spent inside the first one.

Bookmark this page. We will email you along the way, and every email brings you back here.

How to take it

It is simple on purpose. One habit, tied to a meal you already eat.

2 softgels, once a day,
always with your largest meal.

That is the whole routine. No timing windows. Nothing to put on your scalp.

Why with your largest meal?

This is an oil, and an oil absorbs better alongside food. Food also keeps it comfortable. On an empty stomach it can sit heavily, and that is the single most common reason women stop in the first two weeks.

Which meal?

The biggest one you never skip. Same meal, every day, with the pouch next to your plate. The meal becomes your reminder.

Miss a day?

Do not take four the next day to catch up. Take your two with the next meal and carry on. One missed day changes nothing. Quitting does.

The first two weeks, in detail

If it sits heavily

Some women feel a little queasy in the first days, or notice an oily aftertaste. If it happens it almost always settles within a few days.

1

Never on an empty stomach. The largest meal you eat, every single time.

2

Take them partway through the meal, not before it. Food already in your stomach is what makes the difference.

3

If you notice it, split them. One at lunch, one at dinner, until you settle. Then go back to two together.

4

A full glass of water with them, and more through the day.

You are not doing anything wrong, and most women feel nothing at all. If it has not settled after a week, email us at hello@glovbeauty.com rather than pushing through it.

The part nobody tells you

How to know it is working before you can see it

Most supplements give you something to go on. Hair gives you nothing at all. No warmth, no tingle, no lift in the afternoon. Nothing to check in on.

And you cannot see it either. In one study, women's hair was measurably thicker after three months. Most of them could not tell. It was real, it was measured, and it was invisible to the very people it was happening to.

That is not a failure of attention. You are trying to spot slow change, in something you look at every day, with no fixed reference, in bathroom light. Nobody can do that.

So stop asking the mirror. It is the one instrument on this page that will lie to you.

Two clocks are running

The first one is biology, and it has nothing to do with us. About three months before a resting hair is even replaced. Then roughly half an inch (1.3 cm) a month of growth. That clock runs at the same speed for everyone, with any product, forever.

The second one is yours. Every day you take them, whether or not anything shows. That clock is going up right now, and it is the only one you control.

Why it takes so long. It is how hair works, not this product. Three months before an old hair is even replaced. Then about half an inch, or 1.3 centimeters, a month is how fast new hair grows. Months one to three, nothing to see. Months four to six, now you can. Nobody sees a change in the first few weeks, not with anything.

Six places to look instead

Each one turns on at a different point in the 24 weeks. Not one of them is the mirror. Come back to this list, it is the most useful thing on the page.

The drainFrom about week 8

Look after a wash, on the same day of the week, with the same routine. Consistency is what makes it readable.

A hit looks like: less hair to gather than you are used to.

Your brushFrom about week 8

Clear it after roughly the same number of strokes each time, in the same light. Do not compare a rushed morning to a slow Sunday.

A hit looks like: less to pull out of the bristles.

Your pillowFrom about week 8

Look before you make the bed, not after. This is the one most women never think to check, and it is the easiest of the three.

A hit looks like: fewer strands on the pillowcase.

Your ponytailFrom about week 13

Gather it and hold the base in your fist. Your hands notice slow change far better than your eyes do, because they are measuring against a memory of pressure rather than a picture.

A hit looks like: it fills your hand more than it used to.

Your photosDay 1, month 3, month 5

The only fixed reference you will ever have. Same window, same time of day, same parting, no flash. How to take them is further down this page.

A hit looks like: the part line, side by side, months apart.

Someone who sees you monthlyAny time

Your hairdresser, or a friend you see every few weeks. She has the fresh eyes you lost the day you started checking. Do not tell her you are taking anything.

A hit looks like: she asks what you have been doing.

The mirror will fool you, check these four instead. From week 8, the drain: less hair after a wash. From week 13, your ponytail: thicker in your hand. Day 1, month 3 and month 5, your photos: same spot, same light. Any time, your hairdresser: she sees it before you.
The women who see the most at month six are simply the ones who were still taking it at month two.

What to expect

Your 24 weeks, in five stages

The bar below fills as time passes, not as results arrive. That is deliberate. Time is the thing actually doing the work here, so time is what we count.

Stage one of five

Settling in

Week 1 · days 1–7

You finish this stage just by starting. Your two softgels find a home next to your largest meal, and the habit forms before anything else does.

Take your day one photos this week. It will feel pointless. Do it anyway, it is the most useful ninety seconds in the whole six months, and here is how.

What to look for: nothing yet. Just the habit.

What is not due yet: everything else.

Stage two of five

The quiet weeks

Weeks 2–6 · days 8–42

Your hair looks like your hair. This is the stage where most women give up, and not because something went wrong. Because nothing has visibly gone right.

Here is the trap. You think nothing is happening, so it must not be working. But nothing visible is exactly what weeks two to six look like, for everyone, with anything.

About shedding. Everyone sheds more in late summer and early fall, roughly twice as much as in spring. That happens to women with thick hair too. If you find more in the shower around now, it is too early for it to tell you anything either way.

Almost everyone quits in this stage. It is also the one you have to cross.

What to look for: how your scalp feels. Some women say calmer. That is not the main event, but it is often the first thing anyone notices.

What is not due yet: anything in the mirror, and anything on the brush. It is genuinely too soon for both.

Stage three of five

Underneath, quietly

Weeks 7–12 · days 43–84

The first real change is not in the mirror. It is in the drain and on the brush.

In the research, the amount of hair coming out starts to drop before the hair itself looks any different. Most women stop finding hair on the bathroom floor long before they notice anything about their hair.

This is where your six places to look start earning their keep. From about week eight, they are worth checking properly.

What to look for: less hair in the shower, on the brush, on the pillow.

What is not due yet: new length, new thickness, anything at the part. Those hairs have not grown out yet.

Stage four of five

The turn

Weeks 13–18 · days 85–126

New hair is short hair. Look along your part and around your hairline for fine short hairs that stand up and will not lie flat.

Most women have called these flyaways for years and been annoyed by them. At this stage they are worth a second look.

And gather your ponytail. Week thirteen is when your hands start to have something to tell you.

What to look for: short new hairs at the part and the hairline. Ponytail thickness in your hand.

What is not due yet: a change other people comment on. That is usually later.

Stage five of five

Where you can see it

Weeks 19–24 · days 127–168

This is the stage everyone wants. More thickness. Better cover where the part shows.

It is also the stage where the women in the research first started noticing it themselves. Not at three months, when their hair had already measurably changed. At six.

Get your photos out. Day one next to month five is the only honest comparison you will ever have.

What to look for: the part line, next to your day one photo. Density. Coverage.

What is not due yet: nothing. This is the one we have been walking towards.

The destination

What month six sounds like

This is the stage women write to us about. Here is what they tell us:

  • More cover where the part shows. The line down the middle is not the first thing you see in a photograph any more.
  • A ponytail that fills your hand again. The elastic goes round one fewer time.
  • Less hair everywhere. The drain, the brush, the pillow, the shoulders of a dark sweater.
  • Short new hairs along the hairline. Untidy, and very welcome.
  • Hair that holds a style. Something with body to work with, rather than lying flat by lunchtime.
  • Not checking. Catching yourself in a car mirror and not going straight to the part.
  • Someone else noticing. A hairdresser, a sister, a friend who has not seen you in a while.

The words we hear most: I stopped thinking about it.

Women who stayed

Real Glov customers, photographed 90 days apart. You saw one at stage four. Here is another.

These women sent us their photos at 90 days. Not everyone sees this much this soon, and most women notice their change later than this. Ninety days is week thirteen, which on this page is only stage four.

The one job

Your day one photos

Ninety seconds now, and it is the only fixed reference you will have for six months.

Four shots. The front, the crown, and both sides. Plus one clear shot of your part.

Stand near a window. No flash. Hair dry and not styled. Part it where you normally part it.

Do it three times. Day one, month three, month five. Match the light and the angle each time, and keep them somewhere you will not lose them.

It will feel pointless on day one. It will not feel pointless in month five. Memory is a terrible record for something that changes this slowly, and this is the only version of the truth that does not argue with you.

How it works

What two ingredients are doing

As women get older, a hormone called DHT builds up around the hair follicle. The follicle does not die. It shrinks. Each hair it makes comes back a little finer and a little shorter, until one day it stops coming back at all. That is why thinning creeps up on you rather than arriving.

Pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto are both studied for their effect on that process. The aim is not to force hair out faster. It is to take the pressure off the follicles you still have, so the hair they make comes back closer to full size.

Which is also why it is slow. You are waiting on a hair cycle, and a hair cycle takes months. There is no version of this that works in three weeks, with any product.

Pumpkin seed oil 2,000mgSaw palmetto 4:1 extract 75mgGelatin softgel

That is the entire formula. Two actives at a serious dose, and the softgel they sit in. No zinc, no added vitamin E, no filler blend, nothing along for the ride. A short list at a real dose beats a long list at a token one.

The softgel shell is gelatin, so this is not vegetarian or vegan.

Good to know

Anything else on your mind

When will I actually see something?

Honest answer, in three parts. Less hair coming out is the first thing that tends to move, from around week 8. Short new hairs at the part come next, from around week 13. Thickness you can see in a photograph is usually month four to month six. The full map is above. Nobody sees a change in the first few weeks, with anything.

I am shedding more than I was. Is that the product?

Almost certainly not. There is no known shedding phase with pumpkin seed oil or saw palmetto. What there is, and it catches everyone, is the season. Shedding peaks in late summer and early fall at roughly twice the spring rate, in women with thick hair as well as thinning hair. If you started in early summer you will hit that peak somewhere around week 6 to 10, and it is very easy to blame the softgels. If your shedding is sudden, heavy, or coming out in patches, that is a doctor conversation rather than a supplement one.

Can I take this with my medications?

Check with your healthcare provider first. Mention it specifically if you take a blood thinner, hormone therapy, or anything for a hormone-sensitive condition. Saw palmetto is the ingredient to name when you ask. Do not take this if you are pregnant or nursing.

Does this work if my thinning is hormonal, or started around menopause?

That is the situation it is made for. Age-related thinning in women very often shows up around and after menopause, at the part and across the crown, gradually rather than suddenly. This is a supplement rather than a treatment for any medical condition, and it cannot tell you what is causing your thinning. If yours came on quickly, or in patches, or alongside any change to your scalp, see a doctor first. There are causes worth ruling out.

What happens if I stop taking it?

It works while you are taking it. Stop, and the follicles go back to the pressure they were under before, and over the following months your hair goes back to the course it was on. This is not a course of treatment with an end date. The women who keep their result are the women who keep taking it.

What is actually in it?

Per serving of two softgels: pumpkin seed oil 2,000 mg and saw palmetto 4:1 extract 75 mg. The softgel is gelatin, glycerin and purified water. That is the complete list. There is no zinc, no added vitamin E and no added omega-6 in this formula. Pumpkin seed oil naturally contains vitamin E and omega-6 fatty acids, but they are not separate ingredients here and we do not count them as such.

Is it vegetarian or vegan?

No. The softgel shell is gelatin, which comes from animals. There is no vegetarian version at the moment.

It makes me feel a bit queasy. What should I do?

Take it partway through your largest meal, never before it and never on an empty stomach. If it is still there, split them, one at lunch and one at dinner, until it settles. It usually goes within a few days. The full list is in the first two weeks section. If it has not settled after a week, email hello@glovbeauty.com instead of pushing through it.

Can I take it alongside my other vitamins, or collagen?

Usually yes. It sits fine with a multivitamin, vitamin D, magnesium, collagen and biotin. If you already take another saw palmetto product, check with your provider so you are not doubling up.

Do I need to change my shampoo, or use anything on my scalp?

No. Nothing on this page asks you to change your routine. If you want to help it along, be gentle with wet hair, go easier on heat, and try not to pull it back tightly every day. None of that is required, and none of it is where the work happens.

Would taking more than two work faster?

No. Two is the studied serving, and more does not speed up a hair cycle. The only thing that changes is that you run out sooner.

How do I delay or skip a delivery?

You can delay your next delivery, or skip one entirely, from your account page at any time. If they are stacking up on the counter, push the next one back rather than stopping.

What if it does not work for me?

Supplements are covered by our 60-day money-back guarantee, which starts the day your order arrives. Start a return at our returns portal and the team will take it from there. One thing worth knowing before you decide: 60 days is week eight, and week eight is early on this timeline. What tends to have moved by then is how much hair is coming out, not how it looks.

Now you know where to look. Your only job is two softgels, one meal, every day.

We will check in along the way. The next email lands in the quiet weeks, which is exactly when this page is worth re-reading.

"I can't see anything yet" and "it isn't working" are not the same sentence.
